At the moment we have a Pro Action Nevada tent and are looking to upgrade to something with a SIG.

Not sure what type of tent to go for yet - but my question is When is the best time to buy a tent?

Just after the summer hols and most have given up on the thought of camping ever again or towards the end of the year possibly when new ranges come out?

Thanks

When ever you see a bargain :-) Esp in the current retail climate.

You will see a fair bit of discounting going on around now, as reatilers try to shift stock they have, but equally, you may find stuff around after xmas early spring as they try to sell off old lines.

I think it best to ahve an idea of what tents you are looking for and then you can keep an eye out in the shops, online, on Ebay etc. and then when you see the bargain snap it up.

We picked up a tent we had been looking for from a retailer selling stuff off on Ebay for about half price.

It was listed as used - we presumed as ex display, but it didn't appear to have been out of the bag. Certainly never properly pitched as it were

I hate to admit it but that is what the OH said  17

There is a Go Outdoors showroom in Bristol (About 30 miles away - Nice day out when its raining) - She said why don't we pop along and getting a feel for a few tents and then check on-line for bargins

Definitely check out stores where possible. I went into Blacks over the weekend and some their in-store sale prices were considerably cheaper than even their internet sale prices, e.g. Vango Beta 350 was £55 in the shop and £70 on their website (I think, it's not listed online any more).

And yes, I did - I was in the market for a tent for myself and at that price I reckon it would have been rude not to...
