if you are too worried about handling dry ice,simply wait until midnight,preferably with a full moon,and leave it in a nearby woods.The sight of a thick misty fog,crawling slowly from the dark woods and creeping across the fields towards a campsite full of tents,would be spectacular and great fun.Just remember NOT to tell anybody.You'll have a great nights sleep,nodding off to all the sounds of sudden screaming,packing up and running off.

I used to work for a company who used dry ice to clean graffiti off walls, chewing gum off floors and ink off commercial printing machines. When I worked at the nightclub we used it to give the stage a bit of 'atmosphere' when we danced to certain music

We also have a polystyrene box we use all the time( ordered frozen food from Donald Russell, a scottish supplier, which was delivered in one) and would not be without it.We start off with a bag of ice and freeze blocks and it lasts us ages, we just replace the ice every 3 days or so.
Well, after inspiration from this thread.OH brought some home from work and we are off camping and giving it a go......watch this space
Yay really hope it is as effective as it was for us, but remember you'll have to take the frozen food out the day before if you are going to have it, Because it gets rock hard.

Hi i think you might be back now, looking at your time camping dates.
Wondering how did you get on with the dry ice? Was it as successful as my trip?
Yes we`re back.....the weather was scorching for the first 2 days, but we still had frozen food by the Monday.....then it seemed to disappear overnight,
So thanx for the tip.....I`m thinking the ordinary cool box might have struggled with the heat those few days.
