Thank you everybody for your helpful replies.

Why didn't i think of a bucket for night time wees??????17  I decided that I like the Vango Icarus best but could not locate one anywhere.  We visited our local (ish) camp shop and bought an Attwoolls Fairford Deluxe.  Had a bit of a disaster with it already, but will put a different post about that17.

Thanks once again17

Jojo

Went last year on my own with the kids and it rained the whole time.

I'd recommend a site with a play park and ask to be pitched near it, waterproofs, portaloo or simular (if you don't want to leave kids sleeping in tent whilst you nip to the loo) a site that has a washing machine and plenty changes of clothes for kids. (last yr daughter got through 4 days worth of clothes in 24hrs so had to go to the washing machine).

Last summer, I drove my boys 500 miles up to Aberdeen and camped there on our first trip - with a Montana 6 which was a bit ambitious but it did work!  If I was going for a short time, just with them, I'd take my new Vango Icarus 500 but I know they were in very short supply when I bought mine in July.

Fforest fields would be a great site for you, I'm sure you would find help if you were stuck (even from George or Will) and you could ask for a pitch fairly near the loos (72 or 73 nearer the ladies or 59/60 round the other side).  I'm sure your kids would be fine in the tent - I'd leave mine in that situation. My problem is when my boys go off round the site - my eldest (aged 12) broke his foot on a campsite last Friday so is in plaster and on crutches now!
