if you can call it a Summer, that is. I'm a newbie on the site and to camping too I suppose, last time I camped before this year was at the end of my school days. That was at Wookey Hole in '79!
Well this year my brother offered his tent (Outwell Montana 6) and I went online in July looking for sites. We chose Woodovis Park in Devon because the country setting looked great and I knew my partners kids would love the pool. It also ticked the box for not being too far to travel for us on our first trip, we live in mousehole, near Penzance. To say we fell on our feet with Woodovis is an understatement. The staff were fantastic, everyone staying there had great big smiles on their faces and the site looked great, the facilities were excellent and we had 4 great nights there. The easy access to Dartmoor and the local attractions was brilliant. The camping went really well, no dramas with the tent and our hastily purchased cooking equipment worked well. We forgot the classic things, air bed inflator, tin opener and chopping board, my OH also got fairy light envy. We've now had 2 more weekends away near Padstow and this weekend coming we're staying at Hendra Holiday park in Newquay - the summer mad rush is over and the town starts to settle down again. We've now bought our own tent (a Rage tromso 10) and I bought my OH 2 sets of M&S Dragonfly battery operated LED fairy lights. Really looking forwards to loads more camping before we finally slip into winter.

Welcome to the addictive world of camping and this forum.

Please you had good experiences and hope you enjoy more camping this year, then the plans start for 2010.

Many years since I was in Mousehole, such a lovely place. I once lived in Plymouth and know many areas of Devon and Cornwall, but now in landlocked West Midlands I like the sound of Woodovis Park - might go there next year.

Oh you are so lucky being so close to all the lovely sites in Cornwall and Devon.

Camping is great no matter where you are.

Have fun!

A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.
