The ZIG from my Outwell Trout Lake is currently filthy! Despite the dry spell and lovely weather recently, it's caked in red mud from a site in the Lakes this weekend. It's now drying out in the garden waiting to be cleaned when I get home from work today. Think I'll give it a good mop over and it should come up OK.

As a slight digression; the owners of the site had put gravel down on most of the tent pitches, I guess to combat the mud issue, so most of them were sort of "hard standing" pitches – is that the right term? I've never pitched on gravel before and was really worried all weekend that without a footprint the ZIG might get damaged. It's pretty tough and seems to be OK, apart from a few slight abrasions on it. Was I worrying about nothing, how does everyone handle these sorts of pitches? I think I'll definitely buy a footprint now.

We were also pitched under a tree and there's some sticky sap on the polycotton fabric, what is best to do with this?

Thanks guys!
