To go with the XXL and the Annexe and the Ranger, we've only been and gone and bought another one !

It's mahoosive, comes in two bags, will give us a bit of a where-the-heck-is-everything-going-to-go kinda headache but we finally sucked it up and bought a big blue and grey dancehall called a Khyam Aspen from JR Leisure in Leicester ! Yes there's only two of us and yes we could park the car INSIDE it but we can't wait to see how it goes up. We're gonna rent a pitch at a campsite a couple miles away for an afternoon and spend it putting it up and pulling it down and looking for shortcuts putting it up and packing it away like we did with our XXL, it pays dividends for when we tip up at a site, DEFFO not the place to try and teach yourself how to put up a new tent in front of an audience.

We got the whole shebang for change out of 380 beer vouchers including a footprint stone protector sheet. We'll be ordering a carpet from Khyam (who apparently are partly owned by JR Leisure nowadays) as JR didn't have one and the XXL carpet and the Annexe carpet would be a bit of a lash up so what the heck, lets have a new one. So we're a 3 khyam family now !!

I'm glad that we're not the only ones rattling around in a big tent - there is just something about visiting camping shops and trying out other tents (or is is just me) - bought the footprint for the Icarus 500, bargain at just twenty quid, and sussed out future purchases, well what else can you do on a cold March Saturday afternoon

Sounds like your Aspen was a bit of a bargain! guess you are aware that the Aspen is not a quick erect system but a normal pole and sleeve tent are you?

Yeah Telhoman but we figure the time we're not faffing about with mudflaps and separate groundsheets and slinging the annexe over while it's on it's knees and then doing mudflaps and groundsheet in there,  the pitch time for this badboy will be less than our XXL (which we're keeping for overnighters)
