I have reached a so called agreement with the wife that im more than happy to go camping every weekend if i can play golf occasionally while we are away. My plan is to play in some opens where you can enter for £10 or £12 usually. I was just wondering if anyone else does this cause it seems like a good way for cheap golf and to play couses around the uk.

Hi. Surely the problem is you'll end up spending a fortune for repairs to all the tents on the site where the balls have gone through. Or the golfers won't be happy with a new obstruction on the course.

I was going to make a wise crack about the tent hampering your backswing..............but moving on.
Anyway...... Seems like a good compromise to me. The only issue is, who are you going to play with?
Oh and just how big is your car?

Sounds like a good compromise to me...and I don't see how that wouldn't work...There are plenty of sites who have a golf course within a few miles of the site...I have known some folk on a meet use the Saturday for a wee golf trip in the "Do your own thing" slot and return to the family Saturday afternoon to domestic bliss..Being on a campsite near a course means you can get another few holes in without bothering about time and a long drive home at the end of it...
