can I PM you? There's no showers on this site so all I want to know is where the nearest swimming pool is!
Not sure what a pm (personal message?) is but you can certainly do it. Nearest showers will be Frome swimming Pool about 5 miles away. Its on the road into Frome from Bath through oldford village.
Pool & sports centre is on the college site (but not part of college.)

Fiona, the in laws turned up with it all this morning. Forgot the grandparents get the Mirror and they had kept them for us! Managed to book a site on the edge of the New Forest for a weekend next month.
Hi Victoria
My sister in law actually lives on the farm beside the Buckland Bell site, its a lovely area. If you were interested, day passes are available from the tourist info office for day passes to Centre Parcs (not far away) do a google search - may have to say you are a resident so take the address of the site with you! Also, not too far are nice pools at Bath and Wells with wave machines and slides etc. I actually live in a really lovely village about 5 miles away called Rode which has a lovely little CL beside a pub (Barrow Farm) and river with fishing, no better facilities except electric hookup, but cheaper, may be worth checking out when you are here! The village also has 3 pub/restaurants and a village post office/store. Originally from Leicester, I wake up everyday and count my blessings that I live in this beautiful area, with the south and west coast within easy reach. Hope you have a lovely time.
Linda

------------- I am addicted to this forum! I can't get any work done!
Sounds lovely Chopsy. I'm sure your sister will hear me as I'll probably be the only one around with a N. Irish accent!
I'd like to check out your village too and especially interested in little pubs with great food! I'll be there between the 14th and the 22nd of July so maybe we'll bump into you!
Our main reason for visiting this area is Longleat, to fulfill a promise to my kids who are avid fans of the TV show. I came upon this web site whilst looking at the surrounding area for places to camp - hence the username which was a spur of the moment thing! I didn't know we were going to be within distance to Centreparcs - all the better!

If you want good pubs with great food you cannot go wrong with your hosts at the Bell. They also do some great events out there which no doubt you will miss - cider festival, beer festival etc.

Victoria, Centre Parcs is on the Longleat Estate, you also have Shearwater, Stourhead and Cley Hill and Brokerswood within short distances. Shame we will be caravanning in France when you are here as its always nice to meet a fellow Irish woman - I was born in Dungannon but didn't live there long enough to get my parents wonderful accent! How old are your kids? I can probably give you a full itinery for them!

Wow - I'm going to get a notebook for all of this info! I lived in Dungannon for 8 years Linda - my kids, who are 12 and 13 now (both boys) were born there! I live about 30 miles away from there now.
Millermicm, I didn't know there was a festival on that's brilliant! I'm getting so excited about this holiday I just wish it was coming sooner.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
