hey all, im relatively new to this site, well been a member for a while but mainly just skim through the threads without posting anything, so hi all.
finally convinced the OH to let me buy a new tent after being to numerous tent shows around aberdeen, we had the Eurohike Calder but i wanted the upgrade, so ive literally just bought the Vango Tigris 600 with carpet and footprint, thoughts anyone? were off to the ben nevis campsite for the may bank holiday, brilliant campsite. anyways, hello again all.
Welcome Martyn , i like you dont post alot just read through other topics but this site is a never ending stream of knowledge from campers that have either been there or done it or have bought the tshirt. My wife does all the posting from the pc at home. Nice to have another jock on the forum.
The Tigris is a good sound design of tent, descended from the much lamented Vango Vista through the Oregon (of which I have an 800, 600 and 400 because I like them so much!) and tweaked a little/renamed every couple of years ever since. Easy to put up, spacious, very sturdy. has TBS. What else do you need?

We are off there too for the May bank holiday, there are a few of us going 6 adults & 4 kids are you booked?.
This will be our first trip with our new tent so don't laugh at us trying to pitch it and don't forget if you see us to say hi.

Big Hello to you and yours, hope you have a great season with your nice new tent, very wise to buy a carpet also, i found my carpet to be so worth the money.

i'll do you a deal, i wont laugh at you if you dont laugh at me having our arguments with my OH, you got to love the pitching arguments. deal? haha
havent booked, i phoned them a week agao and said that they will definately have spare pitches, they hold 200 for the people that just arrive, i think that should be more than sufficient and not willing to pay the £10 for a booking when i dont really need to.
have you stayed there before? we've stayed a couple of times and although it can be a bit muddy its a brilliant campsite.
thanks for your welcome messages, will put up photos of the nice but simple set-up we have, cannot wait to get away now, may cannot come quick enough for the new Tigris 600.haha
well thats the new tent already arrived, cannot wait to put it up, either for trial run or the real thing, just depends if i have the time to try it out before we head off next weekend.
Hiya not stayed before personally but my brother is coming with us and he has stayed there a couple of times.
We have booked simply because there are a few of us and we want to be together plus we are lightweights and need our ehu and heaven forbid we didn't have that! lol!
Looking forward tent getting delivered tomorrow, wasn't in when they tried before but staying in tomorrow especially!

how absolutely gutted am i, new tent etc etc(as above), was so looking forward to going away this weekend, to my horror and upset, i forgot the car's MOT and tax runs out this month, so i wont be going. I havent even out up the new tent to test it yet. horlicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
