I thought for something different (and for some of us to get our "nosing at other peoples gear" fix) we should start a thread of pics of retro tents and gear as there is no section for the older model tents on UKCS and I for one believe that some of this gear deserves some recognition!!
As they say - "they don't make 'em like they used to".....
I will "try" to post some pics, if it don't work then i'll ask someone to do it for me- AGAIN!
Thats our new (to us) Relum Izmir (Izzy), she is 20 years young..... You wouldn't think it would you?, She even came with the original brochure from 1989... bless her!
Complete with my nan's retro folding chair
My Dad tells me he suspects his 70's brown and orange frame tent is still in the loft of his garage, along with some select orange kitchen combo furniture, and 2 hanging cupboards that have the mesh on the front.
If the orange kitchen is like these they look a great bit of kit . I had something similar years ago and it was much beter than the kitchens we have today, really sturdy and so versatile.
I have one of those stands but in blue it also as side extension pieces, i have just put that into my TT instead of one of those flimsy versions, that visibly buckles when any weight is added,
I love those pans! I still have my parents orange melamine pots and stuff, not in use at the moment as it doesn't match our tent but they bought it when i was 12 which makes it 28 years old and still going strong, no photo's of it though.

I just realised in my excitement at the orange pans i didn't mention the tent! It's very cute, how many berth is it?
A very snug 4..... Great for the 3 of us ..... Its actually bigger than it looks and quite "tardis" like....
Very nice, it is almost identicle to my Obelink Eldorado. I have altered the front guy slightly, by forming a guy between the webbing and the front pole top pins. I then have a second guy fitted to that so it spreads the strain over two points. Hope that makes sence. (In other words, it's a two point fixing guy).
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Aw I love that tent so cute!! Those curtains make it all look a bit Brighton beach - which I love- why couldn't Cabanon keep it that simple. Arrgh I so want those pans to match my Hago stand which looks retro lovely outside my old Cabanon - all I need is a Ford Cortina to arrive in & we'll be time warped fabulous!!
I'm surprised there hasn't been more posts on this thread....anyhow, here's my contribution, our Lichfield Paladin 6, i don't know how old it is, but i'm guessing it's from the 1980's.
Thats a great looking tent.... I love those old Lichfields- proper retro some of them
It looks like yours is canvas too??.... what a lovely tent and I bet its still going strong!

It is canvas yes, but unfortunately although it's in good condition it leaks at the moment. I'm going to give it a clean as soon as i can get it pitched, and if that doesn't work its time for reproofing.
Anne, there is what looks like a Lichfield Wanderer pitched in my neighbour's garden across the road, i keep trying to look over the hedge as i drive past! I might just have to find an excuse to go over for a nosy
