Me and the other half often have a trip to go outdoors stockport just for a look around and to explore the tents, but we always find it is not 'enough'.
We are keen to find a store really big range of camping equipment, does anyone know of one?
We look online alot, but its not the same as a trip out!
We are in manchester and would be willing to drive up to an hour for a good camping shop!
If anyone knows one please reply, I would love a camping shop day trip this weekend!
winfields of haslingden has over 55 tents on display, alongside a large range of equipment.
we also use castlecroft camping(part of JR leisure) at radcliff, bury as an alternative.
also worth looking at springfield camping at luddendenfoot west yorkshire.
you could do a round trip, not sure where in manc you are but say 20mins to castlecroft - another 20 mins to winfields and then half hour to springfield camping, back onto the m62 through sowerby bridge - 15 mins and then the drive home.
ohhhh....I like the idea of a camping shop round trip.....not sure if the other half will agree to that though!
He has just this second agreed to a test camp tonight in Sowerby Bridge, we love how easy going and casual the site is there. Depending on how much lager he consumes today...I may mention the idea of camping tonight then doing the round trip tomorrow.
We have been to winfields and springfield, but we will have to try camperlands and castlecroft. When we went to winfields the tent display was closed and the accessories section seemed pretty small.....we have high expectations I know!
Thanks for the help! I am going to fill the other half with bbq food and beer and hope for the best! ha ha.
Just busy getting ready to go. Smee it is MUCH quieter during the week, weekends can be too rowdy for us too! It's so nice when you can have a campfire though.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
