All of the above but especially the sound of kettles whistling and the smell of bacon frying in the morning.

Yeah!  Breakfast and morning tea at camp is just mmmmmm!

And yes!  The sound of the zipper!  Says 'CAMPING' like nothing else!

I know it can't just be me - but I love the smell of the tent too, the proofing or whatever it is that gives it that 'tenty' smell!

I love the sound of kiddies laughing and playing like kiddes used to do before PC's & all the other electronic games. I also love the sound of rain on canvas (rather not hear it TOO often though) LOL!!

the 2 best things about camping are:

the smell of all that bacon cooking in the morning

falling asleep/waking up to the sound of rain on canvas.

The camping breakfast is one of the best meals you can ever have!

I also really love being all warm & cosy in the sleeping bag and listening to the wind, rain or whatever outside, and especially that special glow as the sun shines down (my inner tents are bright yellow cotton and it is the most amazing thing!)

And the huge smile on my littlest one's face when he spends all day running about and laughing. Even my highly strung 15 yr old relaxes and becomes more chilled when we're camping. Priceless

Camping tea (why is it soooo much nicer than any other cuppa?)

Being outside all the time

The way my little boy loves it so much (aged nearly 4!)

The friendliness of other campers

Those people who make the birdsong/whalesong/panpipe music they sell at garden centres are missing a trick. Perhaps we could do a CD with camping noises-rain on canvas, zippers, bacon sizzling, the hiss of gas etc etc

I'd definately buy it!

My favourite thing, aside from everything else mentioned,  is not wearing a watch, having no idea what the time is and not giving a damn anyway.

Life is not about waiting for the clouds to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

All of those magical things you've listed plus, OH spending time chilling and being good company.  He's a workaholic; 7 days a week, from dusk til dawn, in all weathers so it's a relief when he stops and is still and the dogs and I get him to ourselves.  Now you know why I spend so much time chatting with you all on here!
