Hiya , we have been going camping for about 9 years now , all over the place but mainly new forest , we have had a variety of tents , some good , some not so lol
but have never spent a big amount on a tent , well this year we're off to a new site and , because we're not allowed a caravan where we live (gutted about that) we decided to spend a bigish amount on a new decent tent ( £400 ish )
anyway i dont wanna spend £400 without going and seeing some tents set up and being able to walk inside and see the set up etc , so can anyone suggest anywhere locally for us to go and see some , we only know of one place locallish and thats nutty lane in shepperton, we live in Hounslow west london
There used to be a place at Oxford . It used to be Touchwoods - turns out that it now GoOutdoors It's a very easy run from Hounslow, straight down the A40/M40.
GoOutdoors in Oxford does have a range of tents on show but they all seem to be HiGear or Gelert or those little pop up tents (of which they have about 10 on show!)
They used to have a good range of tents on show (Vango's, Outwell etc) but now seem to favour HiGear.
If you are after a drive out then how about a drive up the M11 to Duxford, follow the road to Royston and there are 2 tent displays right next door to each other. Gary who often replies on here owns Cross Camping and Leisure and a Yeomans next door. Cross Camping is the best display as it has a good family sized tent display whereas other displays i've seen mostly have smaller tents with only one or two family sized tents on show.
My Geography of 'daan sarf' os rubbish so this may not be of any help whatsoever but....
Yeomans have a Camping Exhibition Show at Winnersh Garden Centre (A656) Reading Road, Winnersh, Reading, RG41 5HE Running from 30th June to the 25th July.
Please ignore (and forgive) me if Middlesex is nowhere near Reading.
Hi there, we recently visited Camping and leisure world near Farnham in Surrey. They have the biggest tent display i've ever seen. Not a million miles from you. Their website is www.campingworld.co.uk
thanks David , just visited that website and found a couple we really like the look of so will be taking a drive down there soon to have a really good look around , thanks again x

We went there on Sunday and they have a lot of different ones now, a stray Coleman and a handful of outwells, a bear lake, troutlake and hartford XL

Go outdoors, have a look at their website!
London and the surrounding area is not well served by Go Outdoors. My nearest branch is 22 miles away in Essex - a long way if you're one of 70% of Inner Londoners who don't drive. And you'd have to go to Harlow too...
A bit of a market gap for G O? Must be one of the very few outdoor chains without a Central London presence.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
