I went to Camperlands on Saturday - the intention was just to look as there was nothing I wanted/needed apart from a few new tent pegs. But for some strange reason I fell in love with a tent on display, and even though I don't really need one the more I thought about it the more it seemed to be a better option than the cheepie dome tent I've been using recently - and the price was good as well. So in spite of spending all weekend trying to talk myself out of it I went back this morning and bought one - a Kampa Minnis 4 - and got the groundsheet footprint as well.
I'm really excited now (sad aren't I!) and can't wait to use it, but because of prior arrangements and commitments it will be early September before I can. I'm pet sitting for nearly three weeks at the moment so as soon as we get a really nice day I'm going to have a practice pitch on my client's lawn.
One thing did strike me as odd though - when I asked at Camperlands if they had the carpet for it the lad said there wasn't one for that particular model, but checking on various websites it's seems there is - and it is actually on Camperlands website at £13.99!

Yes I did get the tent pegs Anne, 30 of them! Sheesh, if I pitch it on my client's lawn and sleep in it as well I'll be there for months - it's a big house in a rural location with a huge mature garden, pond and waterfall, and so quiet and peaceful it's out of this world.

I am going to have to show this post to the wife, she just doesn't believe me when I tell her, that if you go into an outdoor store (and it would be rude not to) that you have to buy something.
IT'S THE LAW !!!

Well allowing for the 6mtr rule we could probably get four on the lawn, three on the flagged area, one under the carport, one on the outside dining area and a couple in amongst the trees! lol
I'm going to go outdoors on Friday (after pay day) "just for a look" (says hubby) but I think a new tent is in order, I've not bought one since February!!
Looking forward to seeing photos of your pitching experience!
I went to Go Outdoors yesterday as well, just for a look and ended up with a new tent (Vango Vista 800 £129.99 ), an icarus 500 canopy, 2 kids chairs and a water carrier !!!!
Think i only really needed a water carrier but the Icarus canopy looked good to use on my Sunncamp Kuro 500 and the Vango seemed like a bargain!!!
The oh has now banned me from going to camping shops when she's not their to keep me under control, lol
Hi tiger, looks fab, bit like my Khyam ontario, but I only use mine if kids coming with me. have a fantastic time with it, let me know where you going , mght join you.

My next free weekend will be Sept 4th/5th Wendy, possibly at the C & CC site at Ashbourne but that's not definite yet. Well the date is but the site isn't!
