morning.

I have a 3 month old baby boy who likes his milk!

So much so that i have about 7 empty containers now (couple gone to grandad for his gardening and other grandad for his tools) ! And decided to make two money boxes out of two one for daughter and one for son. I can decorate them easily enough.
But that still leaves me with at least 5 and they are still coming.

Seems a shame to through them all away when they are big solid tins.
I've decided to use one for all of my 'borrowed' sauce/salt etc sachets as it will save them from being knocked or jamed and bursting. Then (if they fit) cuttlery in one too so that they dont damage anything else when packed up.

Can you think of anything else they could be used for (when camping) as they are a nice size and stack on top of each other easily.

We have found loads of uses over the years:

* Sweetie treat tin for each child (named of course to prevent fights!)
* nuts and bolts
* draining oil out the car
* biscuit/cake tin
* money box
* cat biscuits
* lego
* felt tip pens/colouring pencils/crayons
* flour/sugar containers (after the bags had split all over the cupboard!)

I'm sure there are 101 other uses too!!

I used to cover them with sticky backed plastic and use them for baking stuff in my cupboard. That was 19 years ago and I've only just replaced the last one with a lock and lock!

thank you, seemed a shame to throw them away! £7 every 2 weeks is alot of money so good idea to at least get some use out of them!

Like the idea of biscuits in one. Keep them fresh when camping.

I've got one full of batteries. We have alot of toys so good place to keep them all.

Looking forward to decorating them now, a job for 2 yr old!

Knock some holes in them thread some string and kids will spend hours walking on stilts with them.

My daughter (now 22!) was the baby on the Progress tin for about ten years - my family have them everywhere!  My granddad had his teabags in his so that he could see her everytime he opened a cupboard.  When he died, we discovered loads of them!  Nanna kept buttons in one, crochet hooks in another, threads in another.  He kept screws and bolts, old tickets, instructions, receipts...

Mine is used for small sachets of spices x
