Hi Bibbster, I hope your dog is not over 30 stones because that is the latest test result.

Not seen any either and it's probably because there are other pegs that when used correctly are just as effective and cheaper.
Just my opinion of course and i await the backlash from the Delta fan club..
it could also be that they are relatively recent innovation and not widely seen in shops ?
the Delta threads do seem quite 'fanboy'ish sometimes and I have to admit to dismissing them as too short to work properly (and me a qualified engineer cum scientist!) but then I got some freebies and am really glad they are in my peg bag
We were on a site in the storms back in July and my biggest rock pegs were squelching their way out as the ground went from rock hard to mush. A few Deltas replaced them and they were grand, dead easy to get out too
Admit to being a bit of a peg fetishist anyhow, I have a wide selection from 30 years of collecting, of rock pegs, V ripple pegs, sand pegs (up to about 18"), wire pegs, lightweight pegs etc - though not got any screw in pegs yet though as we are minimalist, low tech campers and dont carry a drill
In those circumstances the Deltas were the best for the job by a long way - the sand pegs were too long and soft to get in properly (ground still rock hard a few inches down
All my plastic pegs died years ago from wear and breakage
but the Delta material seems to be a glass reinforced nylon which I would expect to be pretty resiliant
Personally I wouldnt just use these, plain V pegs and rock pegs work fine a lot of the time but they are a useful addition to the kit bag, if I lost mine I would buy some more
MissPitStop, no difference in grey or yellow nylon composite (contains a small amount of rubber for resilience) just a colour choice.
The stainless steel is for much tougher ground.
The Delta Rocks are for larger structures, canopies etc. on hard gound.

Good question, but just looking at a picture of our tent from our last trip using Deltas and I can't see them at all (apart from one at the very front), so maybe that's why?! They're that good that we struggled to get at least one out!
We have some delta pegs but never used them, only got them really for use on the groundsheets and other close in ones so the kids don't trip over them.
Have used the pegs that came with our tent since we bought in in 2003 and been through at least three really bad storms in Ireland and the lakes and never had a problem, its all about good tent and pitched properly not just the pegs
------------- The futures bright the futures ginger.
Don't get me wrong..I'm a big fan of Rob Orr and his Deltas and use them every time I pitch up but I lost a tent a couple of years ago on a windswept Wolds Way site near Malton. I pitched bum into the wind as usual but we went out and in the meantime the wind had changed direction and was blowing at the tent(Coleman Sahara 8) side on. The Deltas did their job and hadn't budged which meant the steel frame of the tent was absorbing the energy of the wind and the frame had buckled and twisted beyond use. It wasn't the fault of the pegs but a design fault of the tent inasmuch as there was just too much tent on too little frame. I skipped the whole lot in Malton Council Yard. Surprisingly Coleman don't retail the tent anymore...I wonder why ?

It was the fault of the pegs inasmuch that they didn't pull out, which is odd because earlier in the thread Rob stated..."you can count on Delta pegs to hold on longer and still pull out of the ground before damage to your tent"...
I suppose it could be said that any large reasonably priced tent has too much tent for too little frame & in this instance the tent might have been salvaged if the pegs had pulled out.
