Hi All, just got back from a very long camping trip - pitched our Monty 6 on May 27th and took it down this morning !!! Camped all May half term, every weekend in June and July and all of August !!!! Our Monty 6 stood up magnificently - no leaks etc !!!
Just wondered how many people out there camp long-term. Would love to hear your stories
Hi. Yes I will be changing it !!!! The roof was very crunchy and it split when the tent came down !! Fancy a canvas tent next. Maybe a Cabanon ...

Where were you pitched, Yvonne? I love the idea but the cost ... ouch!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Not exactly the same, but I spent most of the weekends from April to july , then the entire 6 weeks school hols in a touring caravan , which was great .
But , the first week of september we had work done at home that should have taken a week but everything that could go wrong did go wrong , and we ended up with no kitchen or bathroom facilities for another 10 weeks .
we stayed at a local site for 16 weeks altogether.
I think if it hadn't been at the time of year, I would have enjoyed it more.
After September the nights were cold and it got dark very early, it didn't feel like a holiday anymore and we were homesick. It was cramped , being stuck inside the van, whereas in the summertime we were always sat outside or in the awning all evening. when it got colder there was no pleasure in sitting outside, the awning felt cold and damp at night later in the season.
I missed the bath most of all. The onsite showers were good, but I much prefer a long hot soak in the bath.
It put me off camping for a whole year !!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
