Last day today then, so back to bed after my first tea, and a big cuddle with Meg. It rained on and off until 10 am then its turned into a nice sunny day. We started off over on the south side of the island at Rhosneigr, lots of sand dunes and a nice beach, but the wind. Glad not to be camping this side of the Island also you are right on the flight path for RAF Valley, nice if you like plane spotting.
Onto Menai for a few stores, and noticed its a lot busier there, we have been spoilt this week as it is so quiet where we are. It is Saturday and its sunny so should have expected that really. On to Beaumaris where we had some lunch in a bistro.
Thats it really getting back to Beaumaris, means we have done a circular tour of the coast over 6 days and criscrossed though the middle of the island. Its a pretty place with lovely views, and pretty remote which suits us but maybe with a young family if it is not beach weather you will need to be good at entertaining. The locals are very friendly and we have been made welcome every where we have been. I would have like to have seen more farm shops and local produce but besides one shop which we found today I didnt see any.
Will we come back again, yes we would and I would pick the same site again. I would also check the forecast before coming as the wind could be very strong. Dont pick an exposed position on site or your inviting trouble.
The coppermine and Museum at Almych Port I really enjoyed as an engineer I enjoy places of our industrial heritage.

Sounds like a lovely last day - nice to end with good weather too. We've had a lovely sunny day here - quite warm too so I've been emptying the summer hanging baskets and getting rid of the summer bedding as it's gone over now - made me feel very autumnal - so glad I've got another couple of camps before the winter - really wanted to be under canvas today!
Do you have to leave the site early tomorrow? Hope it's dry for your decamp.
Thanks for the blog Floggitt - it's been great to follow you on your holiday!

Think I should have started a new thread really as cancelled trip title seems to have put folks off reading it, never mind. When I get home I will post some pictures one evening in the week. But it will be a busy week as, I have to get our lambs to the abattoir for 6am Monday before I go to work. Then I have last weeks work to do, plus this weeks work all in 4 days! as we go to Pillaton Friday.
Forecast is dry for tomorrow, but the canvas will have to be draped about the furniture in the conservatory when we get home. Should start packing up about 10. Very pleased with the Cabanon, nice layout, sturdy and I like the big picture windows with our table and chairs set in front of them looking out to sea!
Off out in a while for fish and chips by the sea, heavy rain shower just now, typical its been lovely all day. Oh, bonus a beautiful rainbow over the sea, double one too. I cant fit it all in without a wide angle lens but got some snaps anyway.

If the canvas is dryish when you strike camp tomorrow, get the mudflaps unpegged first before you do anything and let them flap around - finish them off with an old towel or something then it will all dry out much quicker at home. Did you see my post about this? Here
Don't tell me about lambs to the slaugher - I'm a veggie
Sounds like you've got a fair bit to do before Pillaton - decided which tent to take yet?

I did see your post about drying your flaps! Will use a pair of her knickers they will be plenty big enough.
Sorry, but we eat meat anyway and I would rather know that our stock is tended and cared for and has the best pasture before it blesses our table, than buy from tesco that has been raised abroad and we dont know how it has been treated. Its not easy taking them believe me. There are a lot of people that just buy the cheapest meat going without a care for its quality of life or what it has been fed.
We will see how wet this bugger is when we butt out tomorrow. Would really like to use my Rosas and get some good pictures, as I have a plan for the tarp too.
1499 Anne! nearly there too

No need to explain re the lambs - I know exactly what you mean and agree 100%. I don't usually mention being veggie and certainly wouldn't get on my soapbox about it - my choice - everyone to their own.
Looking forward to the pics when you get home - hope you get some good ones of the Rosas (if the Cabanon dries out in time). leave it in the conservatory if it's not too wet - it'll be dry when you get home from Pillaton. Actually, I've found canvas indoors takes hardly any time to dry out properly anyway.
Enjoy your last night under canvas.

Thats for the info floggit and am sure will get the low down at Pillaton about your trip - especially the copper mine! Benllech was lovely and as we went so early in the year the beach was open to dogs so Haribo loved it - he was only 5 months old then! Hope the weather holds out for you so your canvas doesn't suffer ! ( or your home as a drier!!)
------------- It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.
Loved your blog floggit -thank you. We haven't managed to get to Anglesey this year, but recognise most of the views - we call that little cove at point Lynas, Jellyfish beach ( I have a cousin that lives just back up the road up on the hill - what a view that is to look at every day)
Having gone to a family reunion in Florida in June and used up most of our holidays we have only managed a week in Dorset (didn't enjoy that much) and August bank holiday on Shell Island which surprisingly was fabulous. I think first trip next year will be somewhere on Anglesey I have missed it.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
