We have a tunnel, a Gelert Mayon 6 which is SIG free. It comes with 2 groundsheets, being made of that 'Chinese shopping bag' woven material. The centre overlap is a bit of a trip hazard!

I am thinking of buying a single large ground sheet that will also go under the bedroom pods (to keep their floors clean, too). I accept that I will have to make a few holes for pegs in the middle of the oblong!

What, sensibly, would you advise? I understand people go for pond-liner material but does this work out very expensive? Presumably there are various grades of it?

Your thoughts, please!

Couldnt you duct tape the centre split down (if Im imagining it correctly), and then get a big tarp from B&Q? I think I paid about £12 for 4.5m x 5.5m tarp that has the eyelet holes in it already.

Have you tried searching the UKCS Forums yet? There have been many threads dealing with footprints and substitute footprints over the past few months. Here is a selection of footprint-related search results which may help you.

Thanks very much for the links!

zsazsa, I now do duct tape the groudsheets together- but to be honest, the supplied groundsheets aren't quite the right size! They're just a bit too wide so the can stick out from beneath the draft proofing (!) skirts which can be disastrous in rain- BUT they're not wide enough to tuck up inside the tent! Also, I have to choose between a muddy strip just inside the doorway or the one you tread in just before you enter your bedroom pods....
