hi looking at buying bell tent from soulpad and have 16, 7 yr olds i want to section an area off for them but don't want to spoil the space inside, thought about getting and putting in a curtain but not sure of the fixings any ideas?
also has anyone got the bijou inner as this seems a good idea? can u fit a small single bed and standard single(but not touching each other!)

Could be done with a little ingenuity. Making a curtain to fit off the pole an following the roof line down to the side wall. The proper inner bedroom will take up half of the tent space, so we've decided on the "open plan" camping.

there are usually loops around the back half section at the top of the low wall to attach the inner but other than that there aren't any fittings on the canvas (there is a hook on the middle pole)
( I read it as 16 x 7 year olds as well! Thought that's a bit cosy!)
No overlap on the seams either, so if you did sew loops into them, you would probably have to sew straight through the fabric and seal it on the outside
(this is a belltent.co.uk tent but I'm sure it's the same design as the soulpad)

i've looked at your tent and its really nice, i have enjoyed reading all your threads on the bell tent search, you give out lots of helpful advice.
we r travelling to france for school holidays for about 3-4 weeks, we intend to travel down to spain, italy,germany and maybe also swizaland.
i'm trying to work out what to take, used to have a frame tent cabanon, which is great but far too heavey and takes too long to pitch, as we will be stopping at camp sites for 2-3 nights i needed something easy to set up.
so far i've got a outlander xl kitchen tent to put kitchen stuff in, we got set of plastic drawers with the frame to put clothes in, i'm going to get some compression bags to put our bulky clothes blankets in.
i've got a large estate (volvo) and a 470ltr roof box, so i'm trying to keep things to a minium size and weight, a real challenge eh!
i'm trying to work out how to give the girls a little privacy and ourselves, when i get the tent which should be by end of march i will put up and try to work some light weight curtain across one side or might go for the inner, i don't like the 1/2 inner as it spoils the tent.
have you looked at canvas and cast luxury ground sheet it has a canvas green top and is padded, thinking of getting this as a carpet, ihave been looking everywhere to work out how to sort the carpet, the coir is nice if we didn't need everything else for camping! so big. i have asked them how much this is for the 5m, i've been to canvas and cast last year to have a look around and i saw the ground sheet canvas and its really nice, really nice people but alittle pricey for their tents but they are a really good quality and if i had the money would go for one of theirs.

i'm going to start making a felted throw for our bed in the tent, hopefully will fit in!
Before I could afford an inner for my bell tent, I used a large bed sheet cut in a triangle ish shape to act as a divider so the tent looked more tidy when looking in from outside during the day. Bedding, toilet and bags all placed behind it. I simply used three spring clamps to hold the sheet to the pole top middle and bottom, and then used one of the brailing ties to hold it against the side wall near the bottom. I just sewed a button for the tie to loop round.
My other bell tent had no ties on the inside, so I sewed plastic loops through from the outside. (loops inside, but stitching going through the side wall just under the eaves so no water leaks).

thanks that sounds great, thats kinda what i was thinking, i don't think i should need a inner if i could make something that would fit nicely and then i could make it to the size i want and maybe even put a divider inside so they each have their own section without compromising on the inside look of the tent, after all i have to be practical, i would love to have a really luxurious tent with cushions and candles etc but not practical for us right now, has to function and be able to get it all in the car, can have the candles i think!!
has anyone thought of putting windows in the door like canvas and casts tent?
if so any ideas?
i thought of cutting, yes cutting a shape either round or trianglar and covering with a stronge plastic u get on the roll and then covering that with a flap of canvas?
or am i getting ahead of myself and wanting it all?

Personally I hate the 'windows' in the canvas and cast bell tents, if you want to be able to see out you can open the doors and sit in the porch.
I bought mine in Nov and it's killing me waiting to pitch. I got a 5000 hybrid from soulpad. I quite like to c&c ones though - think the windows are great as I am nosey!

But then other people can look in too! I like the idea of being nosey but think will look out the mesh windows on the floor instead (or just peek out the door!)
