I need to get a replacement Fibreglass Pole 12.7mm for a Outwell tent.
Pole diameter: 12.7mm (internal diameter of the metal ferrule)
Length: 55.5cm (from dimple in ferrule to end of fibreglass)
Quantity: 11 pole sections with replacement elastic and spare ferrules

can I use any Fibreglass Pole which is 12.7mm and cut the length to suit?
or does it need to be by Outwell.
I have seen online cheaper poles by Vango -are they as strong?

Yes you can use any poles. I recently replaced the same length of pole you're talking about with a HiGear one as the Outwell poles that came in the pack were a fraction too short. They're really easy to cut to length with a junior hacksaw.

Just out of interest where did you get your HiGear pole - if it was online do you have a link to the site.

I got it from Go Outdoors but I imagine nearly every camping shop will do a version of the same. HiGear stuff is just rebranded Gelert.

Hi Gear is branded stuff for Go Outdoors.

Go Outdoors

Or you may just want to purchase the Outwell ones, there seems to be 11 in the pack and if you're lucky they might be the right length as well.

The Outwell poles are Durawrap so are stronger than standard poles. Are you replacing a complete pole as the Nevada is 12.7mm for the sides and 11mm for the roof

I would not want the poles to be any weaker than the Outwell Durawrap poles, as my breakage happened too easily. It was a side pole and I did measure it at the time - it was closest to 12.7mm. The one thing that puts me off buying the Outwell pack is that they are all 12.7mm. Yet I have would like to have a set of spares that covers all the sizes of poles the tent needs and at the time I thought there was up to 3 different sizes needed. I will now need to get the poles out and see just what is really needed or more likely to be needed. I guess the sides are more likely to break.
