I camped out in my Vengo Icarus 500 for the first time last night. All was ok apart from I noticed that the seam/thread was starting to split abit on the inner sleeping part of the tent next to the zip. I bought it online and the shop it came from is far away so not much chance of retuning it.
Just wanted to know what would be the best thing to do? I was thnking of gluing it as it hasn't split yet and I think if I glue it it might be ok and stop the other part of the thread coming away. Whats the best glue to use?
Difficult to advise without seeing it, but personally i think i would be reaching for a needle and cotton rather than glue, that way you can always change your mind about the repair if it doesnt work and gentilly unpick your stitches, but once glue is on the fabric you will never remove it, even if it turns out to be the kind of stuff thats solvent based and may 'melt' into any fabric containing polyester threads, causing an even larger problem than before.

Vylene (SP) its like wonderweb but only glued oneside then stitch.
Or if you can get wonder web get someting thin like an old handkerchief to, and bond the frayed edges together then stitch.
Or you could contact the retailer and have the fabric part of the tent picked up and sent to Vango's repair centre...
No cost to you or the retailer, just be aware it will take a few weeks at this time of year. You could possible even do this yourself by looking at the Vango website in the after sale section but best to let the retailer sort it or give you the Vango Courier account number and tel number.
