we have just booked a short break for 4 nights camping and its cost us £25 for the four nights for 4 people and two dogs in june my brother in law whos not in to camping [his loss] has booked the same place same time only in a static caravan for three nights and it has cost him £240 i couldnt belive it. i think ill stick to my camping.we have stayed in statics and enjoy our camping more with the added satisfaction of saveing alot of money.
i couldnt belive the price difference i just had to share it with you.
It is one of the reasons we bit the bullet and have got into Camping this year, especially with a growing family plus I personally would rather be in a tent than a tin can, feels more natural.
From what I remember as a kid as well, people socialise on Campsites more whereas on Static sites, people tend to keep to themselves.
The price we would have paid for a static caravan has pretty much bought our Croyde 6
We also now have the benefit of being able to go away for weekends for very little.
A static for a weekend alone can sometimes be £125+.
Money was not really the reason for us taking up camping again. It's more to do with it being a bit of an adventure on each trip. Hardly an Artic Expedition I know, but we enjoy the little challenges thrown up each time.
£6.25 a night?? What a bargain! Or do you mean it's £25 per night? either way it's much cheaper than a static!
We too have recently converted to camping - OK it's cost us a fair whack to get set up, but if we look after our gear we should get years of use out of it and now we can go away 3-4 times a year rather than just the once.

we are going to a haven site and we have one of those freedom cards i wasnt sure how they worked but i phoned them and they gave me the price plus i got a late stay on the last day so we dont have to rush to pack up in the morning, it cost £25 for thursday to monday, fantastic.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
