Going canvas too!
I went to a very little car boot sale to see if they had some cheap books and never got further than to the first seller.... who had a wonderfull retro canvas frame tent on offer for 40 pounds. Got it for 30 - bargain!
It's about 40 years old, Danish "1-2-Trio" frame tent, and I can't find anything about it on the net. Huge, 4 berth, with wonderful features like fringes over the door, orange giraf-skin pattern on the sleeping pods and yellow homemade curtains... And the fly sheet is reddish-brown and mustard couloured (couldn't be more retro!)and in very good shape.
Daughter and I did a test pitch in the bicycle cellar, it took 2 1/2 hours because we had to try different ways to put the poles together - I had never had a closer look at a frame tent before and no illustration or photo to help me. We built some strange spiderlike shapes...
But then suddenly it was there, and taking it down afterwards only took 20 minutes from closing the sleeping pod zippers to everything back in its bags.
Oh I would love to show it to you (and the spiderlike creations we built when experimenting but HELP - how do I upload a photo here? Everybody else seems to know how to do it...

I bought a LaMont not long ago on ebay in Blue and Orange and I reckon it's around 40 years old too, but can't find anything about it on a google search.
Though there was another on ebay but as a 4 berth.
I was very surprised though as it is a 3 berth and it really could fit in 3 people in the bedroom.
Though I bought it only for Hubby and myself when the kids are in respite.
We have already tried it out this week at Hopleys. And found it to be perfect for our needs. It took just 20 mins for hubby to erect it all on his own. I really don't think he could beat his own record on that one though.
Wow that is nice, have recently bought a 1-2-Trio myself, although it's not quite as old as yours is - allegedly around 1990's, in nice brown and beige colours.
shame there seems to be no information about them on the net though
Hey maybe we should start a Trio owners thread here? see what information we could find from each other.

Oh yes, all you Trio owners, let's have a TRIO-thread! I don't know more then that it is a Danish company, and they still seem to produce caravan awnings. Don't even know the type of my tent.
And yes, I've plans for nice accessoires for the tent - definitely can't use my BLUE table and seats. This requires a yellow table, and camping chairs with striped fabric in orange and brown...
I was afraid my 11 year old daughter would refuse to go camping in this tent (Oh Mum, you're emberassing again), but when she saw it, she fell in love with it instantly. So I and the 2 girls will go camping in the weekend - it's a bank holiday, we know a nice little site, and the weather forecast is good...

This is my Lamont. Same sort of age and again can't find anything about them except they are French.
Ebay has 2 larger ones at the moment, both in the same colours, but not large enough for us as a family (they are more like 4 berths) and not small enough for us as a couple.
