glynnis51 - I have the inner tent for the base, not used it as a sleeping tent.. just as a storage - cooking tent..... hope kids will come and stay a few nights sometime with us.
Redwatch - the two together worked very well, plenty of space in the base for storage and cooking, only niggle i had was, i did not get them to marry up very well, they was a large gap down the sides, went back to decathlon and told the lad who helped to demo the tents said that perhaps we had not connected them right and he would show us how if we took the base back in as they did not have one in stock. hopeing to do at a later date..... also with the two being together i closed all the zips at night, so trips to the loo in the night ment opening three zips......... not good .... so then we put the tents katy kornered so they was a gap big enough to walk between the two without tripping over the fronts (if you know what i mean). hope this helps.
Bruce is an old boy now nearly 12, he is a bit of a woos, does not like anything hard in his mouth, so only soft toys for him and chew if he is really pushed :)
Hi cosmickriss, I just came across your thread and pics and had to say that we took our 2 popups for a test run over the weekend and found them fantastic when used together as a combination.
We love the base seconds as a porch due to it being free standing, no more wet kit or kids when we are packing up.
We also had a gap between the two tents although we didn't get a lot of water in despite a lot of rain. We only closed the main tent door and the porch door at night, not the one in between.
We are really happy with both the tents, they have been relaible in the rain and although they do flex in the wind, we think this is one of the strong points as the oles wont snap.
I am looking forward to my next trip in the quechua combo in a couple of weeks, off to decathlon to buy the groundsheet for the porch this week.
Hi "got the tshirt" we had a bit of wind (bit!!!) and the main tent stood up pretty well, but the base did bend a little, and the couple in the caravan at the side of us, said they did have a few gasps and ooooows as the tent bent in the wind, but bounced back. (thank goodness) we had rain too and caused no problems at all, even kept the dog in the base when it rained with the door half up so he could not get out. but still see us if he stood up.
Ground sheet worked ok, but at first thought the velcro was not there at is was very soft in the corners, (when i turned it over) it was still soft but did stick ok, but did keep coming off the corners, but not a major problem as it was ok in the middle. :)
Felt i had plenty of room, love the set up, (hubby just said i can have a Dandy Trailer Tent - which i wanted in the first place - but love the set up so much, I'm not bothered anymore.)
Heather - thank you - i really love it, not much messing around, cannot wait for the next outing.
"got the tshirt" did you find much of a gap between the tents when you joined them ?
we had about a 6" gap at one area, could not get them to match properly, did not want to leave gaps really - if bruce has seen something in the night (rabbit or something) he would have tried to get through it :) Did you peg the middles together ?
