Hi we bought a hanging lamp (Outwell Castor Electric) Tent Light this week, it says 5mts of cable on the box but it only had 220cm. In pen (small) someone had written it next to the 5mts, but not noticed by us. Sadly it doesn't reach from the floor to the top of the velcro straps to suspend from ceiling?

We had to use the lower straps  & kept banging our heads, Grrrrrrr, I don't think we can complain because of the writing (in small print) it’s an ok light, not brilliant, but it's silly thing like cutting the cable length (penny pintching?) that means it's not possible to use it as intended

Non EHU, we use a UFO battery light and a Gaz light for the table outside in extention (brill light). But when paying for EHU we'd like to use an electric one.

Has anyone else had the same problem with too short a cable? Regards Lolly

I looked at one of those but too expensive for me at the time.

If it were me I would return light in box to the shop as being 'unfit for purpose for which it was bought'. If the description written on the box is clearly printed as 5m cable and someone has used pen to amend cable length without clearly crossing original out, they are at fault for not drawing attention to it at time of purchase. I would also consider mentioning Trading Standards if there was any dispute on refund or replacement for one with correct cable length.
