We always try to find a campsite on the coast so that we can go on the beach early am or in the evening so that we can spend the day sightseeing - that way the kids are happy and so are me and OH!

Either here too. We don't live far from the sea so beaches aren't necessarily a pull for camping. More important are railways (steam or narrowgauge)! What we don't do is camp right on the coast. We always opt for campsites a few miles inland with shelter and enjoy the coast whilst out and about during the day.

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

We are very much the same as Mrs Presterjohn, We love the water, I personally was brought up in Cornwall, so the sea was very much part of my childhood, I just find it so relaxing.

We usually go to the costal areas of  France, but this year we are staying here in Ireland, I found this site and cant wait to go in 2 weeks, I dont think you could get closer to the water, unless you were in a boat.

However I would agree with others that the weather is a big factor, especially Here in the Emerald Isle.

I do love the coast however it isn't essential for me to be by it as there are loads of really nice places inland to visit eg. Cotswolds, Peak District, Yorkshire dales. In fact, one year I was in North Devon in some glorious weather, went down to the river by Watersmeet and ended up chilling there most of the day rather than going to the beach! I still have to get my sea fix every once in a while though don't like to go more than 2 months without seeing the coast even in winter.
