so says my OH. We bought our tent last weekend and due to OH's broken arm, are unlikely to make it camping this summer! However, apparently he is already a camping widower!
I love this site and love the pics of the tents too. As a newbie, I have loved all the advice and looking at how lovely people make their homes from home! I have tried not to bore OH too much but have given him a couple of tasks such as electrics/electrical items, lighting, and safety (want him to have buy in on this as to be fair I have been the driving force on this and have had to "persuade" him into this as he likes his five star luxury but I just think this will be great, give us the opportunity to holiday more than once per year (especially being restricted by school holidays from September this year) and our four year son is already picking toys to take on his first camping trip.
I camped a few times about 20 years ago and can't believe how much stuff is available now. I think we are gonna have to hire a transit for me to take everything I want. Cupboards, chairs, tables, lamps, heater, beds, duvets, toilet, oh yeah and the kitchen sink!
I am sooo excited and am planning lots of weekends, long weekends away from spring next year and have already booked two weeks at Trevornick in August 2012 for our main holiday.
OH must be a little bit excited though cos he wouldn't let me have a go at putting up the tent in the sunshine this afternoon, cos he wants to be first!
As soon as we get out there with our new baby (Voyager 6) I will take some pictures to add to the site's collection. I am already planning on buying the porch (when it is eventually released) so that it gives us somewhere dry to cook (got that tip from looking at all the pictures).
If you have made it this far through my post - well done and sorry for gabbling on, but I just wanted to share with you.

Hope your OH's arm is better soon so you can get away on your first trip!

Looking Forward To Going Camping At The End Of June
If I'm not actually camping, then I can be found: * planning a trip * drooling over tents * attempting (and failing miserably!) to downsize my tent collection (in order to justify buying ANOTHER tent - I blame Tina for the piccies of her Cabana!) * buying yet more camping stuff (half of which will probably never see the light of day, but it was a bargain!) * spending far too much time on this site!!
haha we are obsessed too , actually i was the unenthusiastic oh but now im chief organiser :)
we are in same boat as you , restricted to school hols so without camping we would be restricted to at best 1 trip a year .
we go to trevornick in just over 4 weeks time it looks great for the kids doesnt it.
i still keep finding things to buy ..despite the fact the things we have dont really fit in the roofbox and car ! the boys bought little fold up scooters yesterday to take with them after seeing kids bombing about on them last trip !

thank you all....... it is nice ot know I am in good company. Evewidow, have a great ime at Trevornick and look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. It does look great for kids, Joe has already told me he wants to go to the pool at least 10 times! The scooters sound like a great idea. We may take bikes (depends if I have to hire a transit for all my purchases which will then give us plenty of room for bikes). If not, and we go by car, the scooter will definitely be a must and anyhow will be good for those shorter trips where apparently according to OH I can do with less stuff! lol,.

Jewels, I'm with you girl.
In the past few years I've gone from looking at shoes and bags to shopping for running gear, now I just buy stuff for camping. Was in B&N, Aldi, Lidl and what was Poundstretcher buying plastic wine glasses and containers.
I'm so excited as OH said we need a double matress. I'll spend at least a few hours looking at them on line before I choose. I'd love one of those sofa ones on Amazon but I think I'm at my budget limit. Oh well gives me something to dream about over the winter. Poss Christmas pressie :-)
I have a problem, can you get a patch ?? not to ween me off just to calm me down.
------------- Camping = doing things I don't do at home.

Your post made me laugh, but you are in good company on here!! I am at my happiest when camping with my family ( I was lucky enough to go to Feurteventura over easter and while packing was thinking to myself.....would rather be camping!! Think I've gone mad!).
My husband also thinks that I have lost the plot and cannot understand why we possibly could need more than 1 tent. I have designs on a kampa filey 6, I would just love a bell tent and I have fallen for cabanon tents too!! Only draw back is financing the hobby!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
