I waited til youngest daughter was in bed, and oldest is at a festival, then I secretely opened the laptop and found a very cheap offer for an Easy Camp Macaw Green Tipi I couldn't resist... I can fetch it on Saturday or Manday!
Tomorrow I will have the discussion with youngest daughter about not buying Reebok boots for her, but some cheap nameless ones! But I have a very good reason (I think): On our England tour we will have a 2 night's stay in the start, and I was not looking forward to putting up the big Montana 6 and taking it down after so short time, specially if it is raining. The Tipi weighs only about 4 kg and packs in a very little bag, and I think we can manage 2 nights with less space.
Of course I don't expect extraordinary quality, so fingers crossed for calm weather. The entrance is exposed to the rain, but I will rigg up a tarp.
I hope to do some alterations before we leave for UK,I am not sure if there is a mesh door, and I will sew in a window in the door - did this in my nylon bell tent, and it is nice and rainproof. I get claustrophobic in tents without windows!
I think on tuesday I need a test night on our favourite local camp site, my garden is so tiny that there isn't space vor even the tiniest tipi!

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
If I also count the old mouldy dome tent in the far corner of my garden shed, and the children's festival tent for garden camping, it's actually 6 tents...

Hi Pingvin. Ah now, c'mon girl, that's just plain greedy. 6 tents already and you want MORE What are first time campers gonna do when they find the shops have sold them all to a lady in Denmark
Right, I'll grovel now. Was it just heavy duty clear plastic you used for the window or what?
PS tell daughter Reeboks are SOOOO last year, young girls wouldn't be seen dead in them now; you just read that in a fashion mag!
Enjoy sunny England

Growing old disgracefully!!
Thanks Ibiza, hope the weather will be fine in England. I use to be lucky!
I am the happy owner of a destroyed cheap tunnel tent, which I use for DIY-projects. It was eaten by rats in my ex-husbands cellar. They even ate the zipper, but they left the windows!
Companies which sell tent fabrics normally also provide insect mesh and plastic for windows. But I think any heavy duty clear plastic might do.
Thanks for the tip about the Reeboks. And you might even be right, as fast as fashion is changing these days...

I have the same one, and will be using it saturday for the first time. I can confirm, that it has a fly screen, and the door zips closed to keep everything out. After a very quick pitch, I can say that it does look OK. The HH is minimum, but as it has steep sides, I can't see this being a problem.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Hi raf 48, good to hear the tipi has a fly screen. And I had the same thought about the HH and the steep sides.
Which colour is yours? I was so lucky to find the green one on a special offer, couldn't imagine myself sleeping very well in violet or chilli pepper red!
The tent will be delivered tomorrow or on monday, can't wait...

I am happy to see that there are other campers having a special tent for each purpose and number of people...
