We had a "test pitch in the garden" as we are camping virgins (Outwell Montana 6). We watched Youtube videos for pitching, and striking the tent before starting.
Pitching: 20 minutes, wife and I worked well as a team, boy (5) enjoyed, a good time had by all.
Striking: 15 minutes, wife and I worked well as a team, boy (5) enjoyed, a good time had by all.
Packing: 1h45 minutes. Wife and I phoned solicitors, boy (5) phoned childline, neighbours put houses up for sale, cat and dog got kicked (or would have, if we had one), swear words were uttered. Then shouted. contemplated getting a bin bag and packing it in that. contemplated leaving it in the garden until we needed it. As a punishment to the tent, you understand. Finally got it in the bag on the 9th try.
We've decided not to put the tent poles back in the tent bag ever. Mainly because we can't get them in there, but also because the tent + poles = bloody heavy.
