I am registered disabled but can walk short distances using a walking stick (or 2) or 4 wheel walker, am also a solo camper.

You need a tent with a low entrance. Some can go flat at door then lift with velcro to prevent rain ingress. One option could be a frame tent with level access but maybe more difficult to erect, or perhaps a trailer tent.

When planning & booking consider phoning to ask questions such as "what are disabled facilities - is it a walk-in shower with space to turn around in wheelchair?" "What is access like - is it gravelled, are there any steps or raised threshold"? If the site says things like 'slight slope or gently sloping' ask "how slight, how gentle"? "Are there clearly marked reserved pitches"? When enquiring state what your actual needs are. Some sites will have pitches near toilet blocks that can be reserved.

Membership of C & CC could help as they are more geared up to disabled campers needs on many sites. That is reason why next year I will only use their sites. Let's just say I learned a lot this year! One private site I used advertised having disabled facilities but failed to mention the sloping path and steep 5 steps to reception check in, or the bad and gravelly access to disabled facility, hence my set of questions/criteria now.

I hope you soon get into the tent camping fraternity and I'm sure receive plentyhelp on here and on campsites.

Thank you

have got a frame tent ready to use .Trailer tent is no good as i am in chair full time so no toom to move around and as have a wav can not tow

Intresting camping seems like hotels that disabled access does not mean wheelchair access .

i like the look of C&CC but trouble is as it is myself and 3 or 4 children they work out very expansive

im a crip so cant use tents, hence got a cheap campervan. too much pain to struggle to put a tent up, plus its hard to get so low and sleeping on the ground is too painful for me.
