Brilliant inspiring programme. I have used a petrol stove inside a tent. Also had an Exped Extreme tent and cooked in the enclosed vestibule with a Coleman F1 Lite gas stove. Both were small 1-2man tunnel tents, closed except for small vent, cooking was ground level and I was solo. I'm still cautious with gas stoves in tents and won't use one inside my Khyam Freelander because of the long sloping door.

Good reading http://zenstoves.net/COHazard.htm Basically if you have a good roaring blue flame you should be fine. Not a bbq (gas or charcoal). On the poles CO or hyperthermia, you take your choice! You cook in boats with a stove, petrol or gas and they are very well sealed.
