Hi All

Still new to this having only been once to try out the tent.

Got some time in september and if the weather is nice will get away for a few days then.

Have EHU and was wondering will the steam from an electric kettle damage the tent fabric in any way.

Will use it in the canopy during the day but if it gets cold in the evening we will probbaly use one of the spare pods for brewing tea.

I use a small travel kettle inside my tent and it doesn't give off much steam, so not much likelihood of it damaging anything. However, obviously keep any heat away from the walls of the tent (or the roof if it is a small tent) and steaming kettles and things inside tents can cause condensation if used a lot so you need all your vent flaps open.

Thanks Bob61

Not a small tent gelert vector 8 for 2 of us and a small yorkie.

Use 1 side for our bedroom and the other side split in 2 one for toilet and washroom and the other for storage which is where we could boil a kettle in the evening.

We just boil ours in the living area and it's never been a problem yet. I am scared of gas so an electric kettle is a must for me!

Well, you obviously have enough ventilation then

Steam = boiling water=endex job done, enjoy .no need to prolong the tent fabric more than necessary.

I often take a flask and boil up enough to fill it before I zip the tent up for the night.
