...it inspires me to want to join in plenty of meets next year ...
Yeah, but every time you go off to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend at a meet you get dragged up some 3,000 foot high mountain by a glamorous granny, a human whippet and a big black dog!

Yeah they're quite obnoxious really, but life would be dull without its little challenges

Looks like you've had a brilliant and fun year (SOOOOO jealous!) Maybe next year I'll get to meet you all xx
I think we're hoping to invade the North next year so hopefully we will meet!
That would be wonderful - It would be lovely to meet you all (you all seem as bonkers as me!!! lol)
A great thread, love all the pics. Can't believe I missed the stripey tent of Vals, I dread to think how many tents you must have!
I realy hope to come along to one of the meets next year, its just difficult with work as I work every other weekend. However, as a single mum with kids it would be great for me to meet up with other people, and actually have some adults to talk to for once!
Another vote for an up north trip. Try Bobbybees Caravan Site, don't panic, they have several fields with tents in. Almost anything goes there, so you rabel should be ok. No mountains to climb though. Great post, really enjoyed the pictures
If you came there, I could bring all the tents I have for sale
I think I am about to have some major life changing events in the next few months, including moving to two new homes, both on land and water. The catalist for this is outside my control, so it's fingers crossed.
All the best to you all and for a great 2012 camping season with plenty of dry weather. bob
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
really enjoyed the photos, and survived this years meet at Hopleys, it was great to meet everybody and see all the different tents, and thanks to everybody for makeing me feel very welcome.
Looking forward to next years get together's and going to try my tent without the inner, having seen the Izzmir's I think it should go up quicker, its only a small tent but id used 50 pegs.

Why have I always thought that FoO was a man?
Hehehehehehehe! Not the last time I looked in the mirror, purplebean!
Maybe it's not very feminine to be an admirer of owls?? When we were at the meet at Hopleys over the weekend, someone was introduced to Hedgehugger and nearly fell over in surprise, as she had always thought Hh was a fella too!
It's the funniest thing about message boards - unless we choose a gender-obvious username, we could be either! I suppose it says a lot about the gender-neutral way most of us post.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
