Aww, the swallows!

Wonderful pix, all.

Jim you would not have had a pleasant weekend, I can assure you!  My wheelie bin got broken - thankfully collection was Friday am! - and there's a fair few branches down.Can only hope it's better next weekend as I head down to Kielder - unfortunately I go Friday am so can't scrounge a breakfast off you!!

That stag has such a contemptuous look on his face!

The swallow is more blue and has the deeply-forked tail with long 'streamers', and swifts don't have that pinky/brown on the head. They're very dark on the upper wings with just a little bit of paler colour around the face...

Wow, what a beautiful great green!  We met one of those basking on a Cornish wall many years ago.  The noise it made was terrific.  Wonderful creature... and huge!  I'm told they have a really powerful bite.

Visitors to the tent a couple of years ago. Not exactly rare wildlife, but very cute.

They're lovely, Sarah!  What a great little family. 

And Matty, I'd love to wake up with lizards scampering over the tent.  What a great way to come round in the morning!
