We are going camping this weekend ,going New Years eve till the Monday , Wanted to do something a bit different,we planned it in August ,and always knew it would be down to the weather if we went or not,but weather has been kind and I am getting packed up,Am I mad? because everyone seems to think we are.Anyway I will let you know on Monday,If we ever plan to do it again .Wish us luck we may need it .
Mad or young? I used to do mad things until a year or two ago...then I asked myself why. I couldn't use the excuse of being young any more so I think the answer was because I was mad. I am cured this year though and staying home until the weather improves.
Joking aside, I suppose the sensible question to ask yourself is "am I actually going to enjoy it?" If the answer is "no" but you still go just to prove a point, then mad.
I enjoy camping, and do not see why I should stop just because the days are shorter and temperatures lower, windier, wetter etc...
I camped over the Christmas weekend just gone, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. And the dog enjoyed it too.
I did New Year weekend in 2009 along with fellow campers from the South West, and enjoyed that too.
Just need to adjust the gears and take certain precautions, that's all, IMHO.
Enjoy your trip!
