has anyone any experience of beach camping? I'm wondering about the best tent I have a pop up, which will be great but my friend has an older type with front and rear poles, not sure how this will work on sand. any thoughts

We used to camp on the beach,trouble was not the ridge tent poles sinking in, card board fixed that,its pegging the tent down we used 12" wood pegs to peg round and four canvas shopping begs attached to the 2 guys and buried in deep holes. I suppose these days those strong supermarket bags will do the trick.
