Thought it looked familiar I'm not too far away in Inverkip, I look across the Clyde to Innellan.

What a gorgeous country we live in.

I was quite happy with where I live (surburban red brick estate on outskirts of Northampton) until I saw where LobeyDosser lives.  In a mood now ... and they can last all day ...

Och, its not all that good!

I have to walk at least 50 yards before I get to the farm fields and it is another 50 yards passed these to the path through the woods that leads up onto the hill.

On the real downside, because of where the loch is, although our nearest town is only a mile away as the seagull flies, it is 15 miles by road and half of that is a B-road along the lochside. Very twisty and hilly and in the dark I can meet Cows, Sheep, Deer and Foxes.

Once, coming home from the pub, two up on a motorbike, we just missed a jet black bullock standing in the middle of the road. It was only in daylight the following morning that on inspecting the bike, I found a tuft of black hair on the end of the rubber grip on the handlebars. It was that close!

Anyways, tonights tea are two Fish Suppers and a 30 mile round trip to get them.

I live in an urban area...But am quite fortunate in that 10 mins in any direction out of my town and I'm in the countryside where I can find things that fit in with my main hobbies...From my living room window I look down on an extensive grassed area that leads to a large wooded area where I can wander for miles with the dogs...I can look out in the morning and see Roe deer passing at the edge of the woods...I hear woodpeckers in the morning..Owls at night...Squirrels running about all day..Wood pigeons, Crows, Magpies and buzzards etc etc on a regular basis...

Every year I look out for the return of the Housemartins and I know summers on its way!! On a summers night I can stand on the open landing of my flat and have bats flying all around me...20 mins walk takes me to the countryside park where I can wander to mt hearts content up on the moor or in several wooded areas...

Yep live in an urban sprawl with all the problems that go with it....But I consider myself lucky in that everything that surrounds that sprawl is all there for my use...And can help you forget exactly where you live if you use them to their full potential...

Yes we do live in a wonderful country...And camping lets us get to see more of it than less fortunate souls...

Jelboy.

You will enjoy Invercoe, its a well run site with good showers etc. Clachaig Inn is a must, good choice of ales and good portions if you decide to eat there. Hope you have good sleeping bags..it can get cold at night this time of the year.

Yes, it does. I've only been in there once, last October, for about 5 minutes, but I did notice some such sign. Did it say, 'No Campbells'?

I was up in Glen Coe for a night a few weeks ago and it was lovely. It was very mild for the time of year and there were actually a few midgies to contend with already! Stayed at the Red Squirrel site and of course popped into the Clachaig. Can't wait to go back again
