why oh why do Go have a single day 20% off tents today!
We were going to test our tent for size next weekend, as there is a distinct possibility 5 of us will not fit into our 4 person tent. Now we have a dilemma, do we pitch the tent in the garden tonight and order online at about 10pm. Or do I put my sensible head on and think "this is a gimic to make me panic and I must not think ooh what a bargain I must buy today".
If it was me ide try the tent in the garden (weather permitting) and if its not big enough put it on ebay or preloved and buy another on line. One will pay for the other, unless you are like me and keep them both!!!
but won't an end of season deal be even better!!!!! I think I simply don't like spending money on something that we might not need till next year and might get cheaper elsewhere if we wait till the end of the season!
Ribble
There's 5 of us and there's no way we would fit into a 4 berth. We have an 8 berth and its just the right size for us, although we have 1 very large teenager and another following closely behind. They do have an annoying habit of growing.
If you order on-line you will be able to return it due to distance selling rules me thinks.
You might find though that if you search for the tent you are after on-line there will be other places that are offering the same tent for the same discounted price?? Why don't you have a trawl and have a look?
Why don't you buy the new tent today, test your old tent next week and then return the tent if you don't need it. Though if it was me and I had a brand new tent sitting there I would convince myself and OH that we definitely could do with the extra space.

------------- Camping is like playing with dolls houses for big girls!
We are a family of 5, and have a Khyam Ontario 8 as our main tent, which has just the right amount of space for us,perfect for our sleeping arangements. our weekend tent is a sunncamp family vario 600 supposidly for 6, the living area of this tent is superb, bigger than the khyam, unfortunately the sleeping arangements do not accomodate the 5 or us let alone 6, maybe if we were all size 0 it would work, in this tent its lets play sardines, good job were family. My advice is always go bigger, you will find you need it in the end.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
