Hello, Can someone advise of the best way of washing/cleaning a down sleeping bag please, I have had someone tell me they are best dry-cleaned. Any advice welcomed

Many down sleeping bag manufacturers (Rab etc) run a cleaning service as the sleeping bags can be so easily wasted by people washing them.
With down bags they're best washed as infrequently as possible. If its just a bit smelly get it out on the line for a good airing. If its just a stain then surface wash. If it really really needs washed then follow the info on the link above.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will just go with a surface wash and then a good airing (as soon as our weather improves).

hanging it over a banister would get any musty smells gone. ask yourself if it really NEEDS washed or if you're just thinking it does ;)

Dry cleaning is not good for down bags! The manufacturers tell you to do that, though, because improper washing can completely ruin a bag.
