Well I had safely put all thoughts of toasted cheese out of my mind, and look - I read your post, and am now on my way to the kitchen, impelled by a force I can no longer resist... Bad both of us!

Ohhhhh,we have just got ehu for this year,so am just learning about what to use and what not to....toastie maker....yeah,now this will change my camping experience..I love toasties,thank you! (we also have a slow cooker and rice steamer,but not as thrilling as hot toasties in the tent!)
we started doing hot toasties in the tent on our main holiday last year and it makes a huge difference. Cheap, easy to make and scrummy :)
Now back from my "glamping trip" and found the addition of EHU such a benefit that I have already called both sites I already have booked for later in the year and added EHU to those bookings also.
Didn't go as far as a toastie maker, but between kettle, heater, toaster, laptop with TV dongle, phone charger, electric lights, air bed pump, hair tools (not mine), the EHU got a pretty good workout.
40mph winds and torrential downpours probably meant I got more use out of the hookup than I had planned to, but I am now converted and will find it hard to camp without this little luxury in the future.

seriously tempted by an ehu. small outlay for significant increase in comfort... and I could charge my phone to keep up to date on the weather forecast lol!
I went the other way on my recent trip...Have not camped without EHU for years (except when off fishing)...But the site I was on was non EHU..So needs must as it were...I managed fine! Took a wee gas fire to heat the sleeping pod before bed...And also to take the chill off in the morning before getting dressed...Was Ok once in bed..and wrapped up against the chill wind during the day...

If it is just the phone you are looking to keep charged, then a car charger is likely available to do this from the car battery. The real cost of EHU is not in the kit, but in the average of around £3.00 per night charged by the campsites for it's use.

Like you, we have an Aztec Galeria 4, and we resisted using EHU for the first two years we had it because we thought that huge living space would be hopeless to heat. In the end, probably because we're getting older and we still try and camp in spring and autumn, we got desperate. Also we were finding it hard to read by gaslight or LEDs, so wanted to take a little table lamp. We got a hookup and also took battery charger for the camera and a small fan-heater. We were amazed how quickly the little heater warmed up that large space in the tent, just on a low setting. I even persuaded myself to camp last November, which I haven't done for years. It was lovely and warm! Result!
Just need to add some bunting, fairy lights outside, string lights inside, some soft furnishing, and you will be truly glamping!
