We stayed on holiday years ago in the costa del sol and had a family in the room next door, never really spoke to them but the next year we were staying in menorca and they arrived the day after us!
We spent a Newyear some years back at great langdale . Got drunk with another group off the site . Then 3 year later in a local restaurant we spent the think I know that guy . He was thinking the same . And both blurted JENGA we'd played Newyears eve before thing got going . To be honest it's a wonder we remembered anything .
Another time in Delhi India we were on the tourist campsite and a guy Chesterfield was staying on site so we had couple of good night drinking and tale telling before going our separate ways . We bumped in to him again 5 year later at a local park .
We went on holiday to Norway, took the ferry from Newcastle to Kristiansand. After the ship left, we were walking downstairs to the bar when I suddenly blurted out 'Gordon, what are you doing here' It was one of the Branch Directors from OH's place of work!! He was going on to Sweden to see his son.

how about this, pitched up got everything sorted sat in my chair with a book, then very soon, all the worries in the world just drifted away.
Next time camping the same happened, and the time after that. So far its happened every time. How coincidental is that?

Something similar has happened several times - but not directly on site. Arrived in Tenerife, doing the unpacking, the doorbell goes, only my (now ex)husband's work colleague... On a boat to a Yugoslavian island, got chatting to the couple next to me. Turns out they worked with people I knew from Devon who, coincidentally, got married the same day I did (to the ex above) and whom we met on honeymoon... in Yugoslavia. Then... three years ago, en route to Fouras, we stopped at a picnic/loo area on an autoroute south of Poitiers. A car pulls in behind us. Only someone from the same home town and, who had a car with a registration plate only one letter removed from our old car, same model/make/colour too, which is why we recognised it...all very strange

Not camping but on holiday. A few years ago, after my parents died, I was round at their house one day sorting things out and said hello over the fence to the next-door neighbour who had only recently moved in. I never really saw much of her as she was out at work whenever I was there, however several months later on holiday in Italy with my now-ex, we were sitting at a harbourside bar when along came the next-door neighbour.
Also on holiday in Italy we met and got friendly with a couple from Derby who were in the same hotel, we all had a lot in common and would meet up every evening but never got round to exchanging contact details. The following year my ex and I went back to the same hotel but on a different date, and as we were going down in the lift for our evening meal on the first day he just remarked "I wonder if Ken and Shelagh will be coming here again" - and how surprised were we when the lift door opened on the ground floor and there were Ken and Shelagh, they'd just arrived and were going up to their room which just happened to be right next door to ours!

I used to work with a lady who decided to leave to go work in the smoke. 4 years later, OH and me went back packing in Oz and Asia. Whilst on a ferry in OZ, in the middle of nowhere (and I mean NOWHERE)I sat down, unbeknown to me the lady I sat next to was the same lady I'd worked with 4 years prior.
Then 2 years later I won a competion to meet a band, and one of the other people who had won was this lady again.
Then, last year on our first camping trip with the family, we camped in the corner of a farmers field where there were no other tents. Lovely and quiet, until someone dediced to pitch next to us... have you guessed yet... it was her again, with her family.
Camping a couple of years ago, one family, who passed our tent to go to the toilets/showers, I kept thinking to myself that they looked slightly familiar, it was our first time at that site. Eventually towards the end of the week I got chatting to them, to see if they lived somewhere near us, but no, the year before that had been at a different site the same time as us, and also then had to pass our tent to get to the facilities at the previous site!
------------- Life is to short to do the ironing....
A couple of months ago someone on the camping abroad forum was asking about the pitches at a campsite in France. Another member posted a few pics he had taken a couple of years back. The first picture was of our tent and car!
Gave me quite a shock to see it. As I scrolled along the pics I spotted DD at the side of our tent in another shot. She was very excited!
