Was looking forward to my longer camping trip and to be on safe side I booked and paid deposits. I had problems last year with torrential rain and my general health and don't. want a similar experience this time. Long range forecast suggests gusty wind and rain for Thursday when I pitch and Sunday when I decamp and repitch, then weather improves.
I must decide today whether I want to cancel C&CC sites for return of deposits as I can't afford to lose £50; I will lose deposit on York camp. Neither can I afford to replace tent if it was damaged.
My parents (in their 90's) my daughter and doctor all expressed concern whether I should be solo camping in current weather conditions; that, my health issues and the driving distances. I'm also feeling a bit daunted.
My options, as I see them, are:
Continue as planned and hope for the best
Cancel and get deposits returned then go elsewhere at short notice
Consider delaying a week when weather expected to improve
Note: entirely giving up camping is NOT yet an option!
Comments are invited as I must decide today.

Hi fotogen im not an experienced camper but i think you have already answered your own question, I wouldn't risk losing my tent and the weather is terrible so it wont be enjoyable and dont put your health at risk save the deposit for when the weather clears up...happy camping
