Just returned from an enjoyable few days in Lincolnshire, luckily the weather was good as the side zip on our vango orchy 600 has broken,we managed to buy some clips whilst away to keep the flap shut,I was wondering if anyone has managed to repair tent zips or knows where to got zips repaired, the tent is only 2 years old
the zip (teeth bit of zip) which is attached to the tent flap has come away from the fastener which is attached to the main tent, ive tried to threads it back through the fastener but this is impossible, hope that explains it though reading it myself it sounds quite confusing
If I've read it right (which I probably haven't lol!) then you could try opening up the fastener bit, placing it round the zip and then using pliers close it again til it grips....I had to do this with one of ours. If I am completely off the mark it might be worth giving this company http://www.lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/tent_repairs_awning_repairs.htm
I have just (yesterday) sent my Vango Tigris enclosed extention off to have one of the zips repaired as it was damaged during a storm. It ripped apart and was not salvageable.
I contacted Vango aftersales Clicky. They use a company called AMG who were very good at arranging the collection of the extension.
I have just repaired the zip in my Relum, bought a `Zlideon` cost about £8.50 and was really easy to do,sorry cant do links, but you should find it easy enough if you google :)
You could try Kenmar Camping at Wakefield. They should be able to advise you on repairs, and we've always found them very helpful. Tel no is 01924 864494 or they have a website too.
