We have had a wonderful time and I am definitely a camping convert.

We went to Waxham Sands in Horsey, Norfolk and (although I have nothing to compare it to) it was lovely. It was rather dated but the showers and toilets were clean (and cleaned regularly); the staff were very friendly; the shop was well stocked; the children loved the playgrounds; the chip van was a welcome site (especially on the first evening when I realised that my meal I cooked at home had not defrosted)and the beach was great.

Whilst I found everything to do with cooking rather long winded I really enjoyed it and have found it an incredibly relaxing experience. I read a lot, sat on the beach a lot and chatted to people a lot.

The weather was very kind to us. In fact we got quite sun burnt. We had rain every day but only for an hour or so in the afternoon - the mornings and evenings were wonderful.

I am now counting down to my next trip - we are off on 23 August to Wales with friends. This one is pretty "wild" camping - no running water for 5 miles and just a tin hut latrine style toilet.
