Gah two weeks in france coldest night was 23 at calais waiting for the bought (stayed in the parents tin top that night) above 30 for most of the holiday.
However final pitch, (6 of 6!) picked a nice shady sheltered spot under some trees, no need for guy ropes all holiday bar one windy beach-side site, had to be up and away early so we could hit the supermarche, and citie europe on the way back, so up at 7 and as the kettles boiling bloody heavens opened for about 20 minutes before the sun appeared!
Hi phatmaster, our house isnt huge, but we just tried a tent of similar size literally by laying it out overnight throughout our lounge diner downstairs which probabely equates to 2 bed dimensions (our house is small 3 bed ) , crammed all the furniture to the end of room and filled all available space with tent! Was dry the next morning! Was a pain as had to then fold it before we could do anything in the house but was satisfying!
(have to admit folding it in the limited space was fun, but we got it back in the bag so can't be that bad lol

P.s we are not 1sttimefamilycampers anymore! 3yrs in and loving it!!
We hung a washing line around garage from rafters and draped tent around that with fan going, porch was draped around spare bedroom over wardrobes etc.
We have sun up in Newcastle at the moment so hopefully its fine where you are and you can get it up and dried in a few hours, fingers crossed!

pooh.... I thought I had managed to escape much water... until i thought I had better check... fly sheet is doing an impression of an overgrown kite pegged to the washing line. yeah I know I should pitch it, but daughter o mine is at work. Take it to the park. It will only take an hour to dry out once pitched and you can have a picnic/chat to all the interesting people who will ask you what you are up to!
Assuming you have a bath tub it is possible to dry a tent in one, you put it in so one edge is at the top and once that has dried pull it out of the bath so the next layer of tent can dry and continue until you have a completely dry tent out of the bath. Obviously this may take a few days depending on size of tent and not always possible to leave it in the tub that long but so long as you can keep the dry part away from the wet part when removing it from the bath it will work.
under strict rotation on over an ironing board and step ladder in the kitchen righ tin the way but the window and doors open fully so its almost there.
Pah, not talking about tent drying, it's taking FOREVER! It's in the carport draped over a selection of different wheelie bins (hot on recycling round here) and it needs rotating in a minute. It's the most boring thing about camping and when I win the lottery, I will pay someone to do it for me!
may buy a tent that fits in the garden next time! i think it takes so long because i am just moving the water around rather than drying it, it deffo needs pitching! it was not even that wet.
