Due to the rather bad weather we have had this year, together with getting older and ill health, we have decided to give up on the camping bug. We may still have the odd weekend camping (sure oh and ds will definitely do at least)instead are investing in a static caravan.
So anyone who wants to buy a Outwell Yukon River 6 please contact me, also have a Montana/Minnesota 6 green outwell carpet (2010) that I remember reading a few people were after (better quality than the newer ones) - Know it's the wrong time of year to be selling camping stuff but won't hurt to try amongst you camping buddies!
Have you not heard the forcast for next year??? Wall to wall sunshine from March to September. Also all campsites are giving away 14 nights free camping and the goverment are going to give huge tax refunds for tent user. The only bad news is the huge extra tax that is being put on static caravan holidays. XXXX
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
When my in laws were alive they had a static, and there was something to be said about just driving to the van, switching the gas and water on, and putting the kettle on. the only thing that we used to pack was some clothes and a couple of pints of milk - everything else was there.
Much as I love my tent - am even garden camping at the moment - there is something about a static that does appeal - especially after this year, we only got away twice, the first time I had to come home early because of the dreadful weather, and the second time we took down in the rain. Bad forecasts put me off going again, as I did not relish the thought of setting up/taking down in the rain and possible wind. Also as the pitch fees are usually paid for the year, there isn't the question of - we'd go but we can't really afford the pitch fees,
I have to confess that when I win the lottery I will buy a static, but also keep my tent so that I can go to different places as well.
I will post on here Hacksaw Bob but want to get some pictures of it first, however with this damp drizzly weather that we seem to be constantly getting lately not sure when that will happen Probably not until spring not that desperate to sell it yet, have so much going on, but may try it anyway without pictures for now.
My sister in law has a static that she bought for family use. She lives/works on a caravan site so she could never get away to visit family/friends, so she bought her own for us to go to them. I must admit-you cant beat parking up, chucking your bag in the bedroom and going out to explore. No faffing about for hours. If I could afford 1 I would have 1, but its usually the site fees that kill it.
