It has taken us over a year to decide to put Bear up for sale and at the weekend we took the plunge. We sold it Monday. I feel quite sad that my pride and joy of a tent is going as it took us a long time to buy, but we haven't camped for 3 years and have a different car and no trailer, so the time had come.
Am I sad if I shed a tear or 2 on Saturday when it is gone? I hadn't expected it to sell so quick!! Our one and only holiday in it was great. At least it is going to a good home and hope that it gets more outings than we gave it.
Aww, you're not sad at all, parting with a much-loved tent is almost like losing a member of the family, regardless of how many times you have or haven't used it.
I have a lovely little tent which I got three years ago and which I've spent many happy weekends in but it just isn't tall enough so I'm looking for something a bit bigger - already I feel like I'm being disloyal to it just by looking, so I'll feel even worse when I finally get its replacement

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
We have a similar problem though. We have so many large tents, and we only ever use the Estoril for longer trips, or the Latitude or Ranch for shorter trips, so we are going to sell some of the others this season. The biggest problem, other than with the plastic Pharoah or Aspen, is that I love them all so much, and keep thinking of occasions when this or that tent may be a better option. Then of course there's all the other smaller tents that I can't bear to part with either. I suppose my best option is to advertise them at way over what I will get, then at least I can say I tried to sell them. and If I did sell one, at least I will have made good money on it.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
