I don't see why not.... mines gets hot on the sides but as long as it's not in contact with anything I feel that it will be fine. Plus with the hook up, it would trip if there was any problem

Have taken a slow cooker with us whenever we have camped for the last four years and never had a problem. In fact it's really nice as you walk up to the tent and smell your tea cooking.
I think slow cooker while camping is a great idea, i too though would worry about leaving it on all day but love the idea of not having to cook after a long day out, its all there ready, just add a nice crusty loaf. yum yum!
We certainly wont be taking ours yet though till we get a trailer as car is going to be rammed as it is!
