Hi, I think this is my first proper post but have been reading the forum for a while and should say thank you for all the brilliant advice!
We're off later in August for 10 days, the longest with done since the littlies (now 5 and 2) arrived. We've not previously bothered with a proper camp kitchen; I'm not keen on cooking inside the tent anyway, and for safety reasons the nearer the ground the better!
However as we are doing a longer camp we'll be cooking more so a kitchen seems sensible if only to save my back!
I don't need anything too fancy, but the basic concertina style ones look a bit too wobbly? Chances are we'll be bringing it in and out of the tent so storage wise the food and crocks will be in another cupboard or boxes. Anything anyone would recommend that might fit the bill? And am I being over cautious with the not cooking inside the tent thing?!
I have a camp kitchen but it is long when folded down and not that sturdy. It is useful though and had it for several yrs! I now use large storage boxes for cutlery, crockery and pans and just use mesh covered kitchen cupboard for non perishable foods...making sure they are sealed as mice visited us one year!!

We recently bought one of these Regatta jobbies. If I was to criticise, the shelves inside the cupboards are not the strongest (fairly common with these things) but the overall unit is sturdy, a good size for food prep, storage and cooking, and it all packs away into a zipped bag.

My daughter gave me a Kampa Sargeant kitchen - it's a whopper and I've only just bought a tent that would suit it. Haven't actually used it yet, but am hoping to soon. I'd set it up just outside under a canopy. Having said that, it's a good height with a windshield and three sturdy shelves, mesh inserts for ventilation and a zip-up door to keep prying little hands away from the contents. Packs into a manageable bag. When my daughter was having a new kitchen fitted it was set up in the dining room and well used.
Have a great holiday!

Hi we have an outwell Richmond kitchen and got to say although a little expensive it's a brill piece of kit. Loads of space with shelves and zip up door also a sink if you so wish comes with its own bag and is really well made but then the wife is outwell mad .
I have a Kampa Sergeant camp kitchen and I love it.
It was an upgrade from a cheapo Aldi 3-tier concertina that had served me well for 3 seasons.
It is much easier to set up, and the food is protected from the local widelife. Very pleased with it.
I did consider the Outwell Richmond kitchen, however, it only has 2 shelves, whereas the Kampa Sergeant has 3, which is more suited to my needs.
Check out their various designs to find one that suit your needs.

We have got the regatta one from argos after reading its fab reviews. We have just got back from a two week camping trip to devon and I thought it was one of the best pieces of kit we have bought. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
We got the royal camping kitchen which is similar to the richmond except that it has poles that you put together. When I got it, the royal was much cheaper than the richmond. I also found one call kokkenbrod, which is the same as the royal but has a shelf on the right hand side under the sink.
I wish I had got one that concertinaed because putting the poles together gets on my nerves and also it means that when in the bag, its more lumpy than I suppose the fold up ones would be.
However, that said, I would much prefer to have mine than just tables as I like to put the food and equipment away, I dont like clutter on show. I also wonder if ours with the poles is more sturdy than a fold up one, but I dont know.
The sink was what attracted me to it, I found it really useful, with a water carrier on top with the tap over the sink, its like having running water! Be careful when you take the sink out though as you dont want it spilling and sloshing all around, its a bit tricky
We looked at loads before getting the Hi Gear Kitchen Table and Stand from Go. Quite a heavy stand but it was easily the sturdiest we found (which was what we wanted). A piece of non-slip mat cut to size and the cooker doesn't budge an inch. No wonky tables or wobbly stands for us anymore
Washing up bowl a bit small but there's usually only 2 of us so suits us fine and is very handy.
We got a Hi-Gear concertina kitchen stand from 'go'. Not bad really, but I thought it a bit wobbly, so I just stuck a few tent pegs in to anchor it more at the base. It did the trick for me.

Hi, just to update we bought this one

Off to test it next week, but the cupboard can hold pans and crockery at least!

Excellent bit of kit!
If I was buying again it would be that one or this which is similar with the addition of cupboards underneath. I actually have this one gathering dust :( just a bit too big and heavy.
